Ready to join the world’s largest B2B platform for returned and excess inventory?

Consider this your quick start guide to registering on B-Stock. We list all the information you will need to have on hand, how to fill out your Buyer Profile, and FAQs you may have along the way.

Who Can Buy on B-Stock

Regardless of where in the world you live, all B-Stock buyers are required to have a valid resale business. That means your business intends to sell inventory purchased on B-Stock.

Building Your Buyer Profile

Filling out these sections will ensure you can start purchasing inventory across the B-Stock platform.

  • Business background and contact information
  • Tax information
  • Cross-border shopping and freight forwarding (if applicable)

Building Your Buyer Profile

Additionally, you will be asked:

  • Business type (Retailer, Wholesaler, Manufacturer, Other)
  • What kind of merchandise are you looking for

What You Need To Start Registration

Here is a summary of all the information that makes up your Buyer Profile:

  • Business Name: The name of your business (you won’t be able to change this later!)
  • Business Address: The address you have listed on your business’s tax documents. PO Box addresses will not be accepted.
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN): This is an identification number issued by the federal government to a business. Your EIN is not the same as your reseller tax ID.
  • Reseller Tax ID*: This is issued by the state government to authorize the collection of tax at the time of sale to an end consumer/customer.
  • Ship-To Address: The location where you will be receiving orders. You may enter additional addresses if you have multiple ship-to locations.
    • Commercial vs Residential: You will also be asked if your address is zoned for commercial or residential and if you are able to unload trucks at this location. This is important for future order deliveries. Check your city’s government website for local zoning maps.
  • Contact Details: Your phone/mobile number for receiving shipping updates, payment notifications, and inventory alerts (per your notification settings).
  • Import/Export Documents (if applicable): If you are interested in cross-border shopping, you must provide freight forwarder information. (Note: Not all sellers allow resale outside of the US. See the list of sellers that allow export here.)
  • Responsible Recycling Documents (if applicable): If your business is R2-certified, you have the option to add in your documentation. Certain mobile sellers require this to shop on their storefront.

Reseller Tax ID/ Resale Certificate

This is the most important document you will be required to submit, as it allows you to buy wholesale goods tax-free. (It’s then your responsibility to collect this when you resell to customers.) Resale certificates are state-specific; depending on where you ship inventory to can make a difference.

*A reseller tax ID can be called a variety of different names depending on the country, state, or province your business is registered in. Other names you might know this by: business tax ID number, seller permit number, sales tax certificate number, or sales tax ID number.

Pro Tip: The #1 reason profile approvals get delayed is an invalid resale certificate. Double-check that yours is up-to-date!

Ready to Start Your Registration?

With just a few documents and five minutes, you can complete your registration and begin exploring thousands of listings on B-Stock. Sign up today and start sourcing smarter. If you need help at any point during registration, we can help.

No! It’s free to register, so even if you’re not ready to start purchasing inventory, we still encourage you to sign up and look around.

Buyers who complete their profile can usually start bidding and buying the same day.

~5 mins, but be sure to have all of your documents ready to ensure a smooth experience.

Absolutely! You will be required to submit most of the same documents (you may know them by different names), and you can explore the inventory available to international buyers. Read this blog for more information on international registration.

You may need a separate resale certificate depending on where you plan to ship inventory. Sometimes, one resale certificate may be eligible for additional ship-to states. Learn more here.
